Scratch removal suggestions? - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

I'm sure this topic has been done numerous times but I am new to the forums here so please if you know of where these topics are paste the link or shout out some advice.

My 1986 Iroc has the stock red paint scheme. It only has 28000 miles on it, but was recently sat on by a couple college kids scratching up the driver front of the hood. Some are pretty deep. This car is in almost mint condition and was stored in a garage for about 90% of its life so has little fading. Is there anyway without causing more harm than good to get some of the scratches out. Also, they are too deep to just buff out. Please help me, I love that car!

are the scratches a whiteish color, if so that means there prolly jus in the clear and can be wetsanded/buffed out more than likely they wont get 100% out but can make it much less noticeable if is red/grey/or down to metal yuor only option owuld be to paint

Yes, the deeper scratches are white and the others I know I can buff out. Would it be best just to take to a good body shop (ie not maaco), and get them to do what they think is best to fix the damage?
