i got an 83 with pwr windows and evertime they are going up or down (really slow) they make a strange humming sound as they go up or down.
is this from the motor or the tracks? do the tracks just need a lube up or something like that? anyway i want it to stop, what do i do?? any info on this would be great, thanks in adance

well if they are going up and down slow to begin with- get new motors- its not a fun job but youll like it alot better when its done, when your installing new motors take the regulator assembly out and check it and grease it- if it all looks good then put it back in.
well if your motor is whineing- its not going to be the switch, every 80s GM ive ever owned have had motor failures. if they are going up and down slow its a motor problem. usualy when a regulator goes- it makes a clicking sound, but thats just my day to day expeirience at work.
