side moldings on door

im getting my car painted and i want the side modelings to match the color of the car. the paint is candy apple metallic red. where could i get some of that color if they even make them. the paint will chip off if i paint the side moldings when anyone door dings my car. what should i do. i live in the city so im bound to get door dinged some time or another

1985firebird does you car have the 2 piece body molding where the aluminum base is riveted to the body and the black rubber strip slips in it's channel. I've seen cars with the rubber strip body color so it's possible.Try the paint for urethane body components.Or do you have the one piece that attaches with adhesive.These came body colored so you should be able to paint them with the same flexible paint,for urethane body panels like the nose.

i have the one piece that is attached with adhesive. i was just told that when a car door dings it the paint will chip, but i will have to double check on that.
