Camaro Doors ??

Hello Everyone - very new to the board and to firebirds in general.

I am trying to restore an 89 firebird and one of the last things I need are two doors in good shape. Mine are both in very poor shape (one very rusted and the other badly dented on the leading edge).

I have located two doors in good shape, but they are from an 87 camaro. They do not have any ground effects and they have manual windows instead of power windows which I know have (I can live with manual).

My questions - will these camaro doors fit on my firebird without any modifications? Could I at a later date move my power window parts to the camaro doors?

I have gotten mixed answers about the fit. Most are leaning toward the answer that they will fit, but before I spend money and drive 3 hours to picke them up I just wanted to check here. Seems to be a lot of very knowledgable members on this forum.

Thanks.

Yes they will fit and yes you can swap your power windows over.

Without modification.. no... only if there are ground effects on the camaro doors. If there are, the gfx holes will have to be filled (I can't remeber at the moment which was the last year for no gfx on the camaro.. 86 I think).

Otherwise.. bolt them on and be happy.

Using the power of the search feature on these forums will net you some results about the power window swap.

To kick of your quest I'll offer this link though..

They SHOULD fit, I put a door from a 89 GTA on my 83 Z28 and it will not line up completley correct, it latches and opens and closes fine, but it is just different enough to not completley line up, even the body shop couldnt get it to line up perfect. i put another door from the same year camaro on the other side and it lined up perfect. luck of the draw i guess.
