"Dye" and "paint" is pretty much the same thing when it comes to plastic panels. A plastic or vinyl "dye" is still designed to be sprayed.
There are a million brands out there, and I've found the SEM to be the best. It gives the most natural appearance once it's applied, and seems to be the most durable too.
I've used Plasti Kote, and had good results with that too. It doesn't lay down as smooth as the SEM, but over textured surfaces that doesn't matter. They have a color that's a spot-on match for the generic gray color in a lot of the thirdgens.
I've used duplicolor and haven't been as impressed, though again, on textured surfaces, it's not real likely to matter.
I'm not a fan of the Krylon Fusion. Too thick & heavy even on textured surfaces, and it's too damned shiny. |
