More Pictures Please. I think I can say that we are all waiting for more Pictures. I know that is going to be One Sweet Ride when you get done. I am hoping to see more pic's soon. I have been reading this thread from the beginning and I'm like a junkie now. I need my fix everyday. LOL Keep it up. Jamie55
Yes, I have the tires and I am hoping the wheels will arrive tomorrow! Man, I sure hope they show up tomorrow, because I as well as you guys, am tired of waiting.
600 posts is absolutely insane and you know who posted the most? Yours truly. When I get the time, I'll throw all the pics on a web page e.g. Car domain or something of the sorts.
Hey Neil, that's ok we undestand your busy and you have really posted alot of your build for us. I think it's great your sharing your project with all of us. Keep up the great work and "OH YEAH" I'll still be looking forward to more pictures of this great build. LOL. Later Niel. Jamie55
The wheels arrived today!!!!! However, Discount Tire will have them mounted tomorrow not today, oh well. What's another day as John said. He did say he was going to take pics of the rear wheels so you can see how they welded and sealed the rear wheel, sounds like i-Forged did a really good job. Will post pics as soon as I get them.
Looks great nice work. All that width shoulda used more dish to the wheels ( neg offset ) would have looked SICK!!!
Yeah, I am a fan of the deep dish look as well, but you can't just arbitrarily set your backspacing to what you want. As John pointed out, alot of components will determine correct wheel fitment. Overall, I think the dish depth will look good on the front and rear wheels.
the wheels are perfect. the "dish" is fine. IMO i think excessively deep-dished wheels are a fad that might look stupid in the future. just my OPINION....so nice choice man

Deep inset wheels aren't really a fad, they're kind ofout of style now judging by what's popular...
Racecars provide a lot of the cues for a fast looking street car, it's funny when you compare the evolution of cars, their racing counterparts, and then later styling advancements and aftermarket add-ons.
One of hte first things you do to increase performance is add grip. The best way to do that is to enlarge the contact patch is to widen the wheels, and with sports car racing that means flared fenders plus extra wide wheels with the same length axle.
From what I can tell it will probably be relatively timeless, but not ever popular enough to be a fad. Too many race cars have flared fenders and deep offset wheels for it to be a fad, IMO. It's not really a styling thing, it's turned into a modification of necessity when racing, so it has a very sound lineage into street styling, so for that reason I dont really think it's a fad.
Wow...very nice wheels man!
New rims are on my 'to do" list.
I want to go as wide as you are in the rear (335's). I will be mini-tubbing the car once the engine issues are done!
If you don't mind me asking, what did those wheels cost? I would guess
>$3k. Also, how much do they weigh?
Thanks,
Tommy
We got Neil a really good deal from I forged. I think they were under 3500...if I remember correctly including s/h. They are pretty light..I'd bet 10lbs maybe at most
----------
btw, the wheels are complete custom one off wheels unless anyone copies them.

Hands down, my favorite Camaro on these boards. Excellent work, and a beautiful color to boot. This entire post is a pinnacle for the Third Gen Body Board. Congrats on a beautiful car! -Bob
P.S. If your car is included in a magazine as stated in previous posts, please let us know!

Thank you very much everyone!!! At first I didn't think people would be that interested in this project but I have been pleasantly surprised! Again, I am glad that you all like my car as much as I do. Now comes the fun part, putting it all together and making it work, piece of cake, right? As for getting it in a magazine, that would be nice and I sure hope that happens. Would love to see it on the cover and in news stands across the U.S.
