Will the small rods help? Not much...will they hurt? ...No
the final version will have solid rod ends to prevent bar rotation as I have always planned.
If you look real close at the pictures you may notice a humongous aluminum intake maifold that is in the way of making advantageous bar. I have told Neil over and over this car is being built backwards , design it ,build it...then paint it. The next car He builds will be approached in a different manner.
If you don't like it, you don't like it...... But does it really matter

I can respect that point of veiw. Like stated before, I was asked due to my expertise to come in an critique this brace from several other members. I mean no disrespect, I think the fabrication on this entire car is gorgeous. As for bracing strut towers for coilovers? I feel it is best to wrap them fron the subframe up around the loop of the tower and back down to the subframe with tubing- and yes, that idea would have been best performed if their was a master plan prior to the build and done while the engine bay was stripped. I feel your pain John, It is much more difficult to alter things as build ideas are given to you late in the process.
Again, gorgeous car. Best of luck to you and Neil in getting her shaken down and hopefully have some great fun with her.

This car has got to be in a magazine, unbeieivable craftmanship and vision. It is about time someone showed the world what can be done with these cars.Camaro performers can you hear us now?We are the third gens hear us ROAR!!!
Re: Phase I done, Phase II-interior almost done, and now Phase III-drivetrain (454 LS
Thanks guys! I appreciate the nice words. Right now we are working on a slight re-design of the rear bumper, exhaust tips and rear spoiler. Once we get the bumper to a state where it has taken shape, I will post a ton of pics for you....but until then, I am going to make you wait a bit .
Once I layout a design of the rear spoiler (yes, I am chucking the one I had on before) John will fabricate it most likely out of aluminum and then the car should be getting close. After that, the air intake duct from the air filter box to the throttle body will need to be made and then it's tying up loose ends (skid plate, throttle linkage bracket, fuel line...going to swap in hard line under the car and gas tank filler neck mount).
Oh and then I need to get back on the interior...crap. But that will be fun!

Neil what did you end up doing with door panels got any pics.
No, I think he was talking about the guy who commented on my STB design. Which is all fine and good, because I am not building this car to run the 24hr Lemans. The way I look at it is...I never had a STB before on this car, so by by adding what I have, I think I will improve the handling and minimize flex slightly. Sure alot of things could be better or improved on but the question is how much more time and $$$ do you want to throw at it? Yes, I have thrown alot at this car, but I need to draw the line somewhere
Re: Phase I done, Phase II-interior almost done, and now Phase III-drivetrain (454 LS
Not sure how I never noticed this thread before, but I am amazed. The work on this car is unreal! Just when I was really starting to like my car, you make it look like a piece of junk

Ditto, been reading through it for over an hour, truly an amazing car. That eninge is a thing of beauty in it's own right let alone the fact it's in a beautiful car too.
Re: Phase I done, Phase II-interior almost done, and now Phase III-drivetrain (454 LS
I can understand everyones sentiments of running through this thread. I've been a long time TGO reader, and I have read every single Swap thread in the LTX LSX forum, but I was quite pleased to find this thread about a month ago. Truly one of the best builds I've seen. I've really enjoyed reading about it. Keep up the good work, and yes please post more pics!

It's coming along at the speed of SLOOOOOOWWWWWW! Being optimistic though, the car will be 25 years old soon and I won't need to worry about emissions testing
Re: Phase I done, Phase II-interior almost done, and now Phase III-drivetrain (454 LS
I just took an hour to completely read through this thread and WOW. I have just recently become a third gen owner and recently a member of these forums. I've never seen a thread of this length last and keep the attention it has.
I salute you Neil that is a gorgeous car and an incredible design, I see that winning thousands of shows across the nation. As well as kicking the crap out of drag cars at the strip . Its very cool to see a mans dream vehicle being built, and I hope to someday have that much accomplished with my Firebird.
Re: Phase I done, Phase II-interior almost done, and now Phase III-drivetrain (454 LS
I've never seen such a well-detailed build thread for such a bad-*** monster of a 3rd gen! Very, very, very well done sir! I really didn't want to look at 40 pages of the same car, but I forced myself to at first...then it became much easier as the car got more bad-***'d. Congrats for all the work you and others have done. This is THE sweetest 3rd gen Camaro I've seen to date, bar none. Makes me say "to hell with my debts...I'll sell the T/A and buy a Camaro instead of sell the T/A and put it towards my debt"...but I will not listen to that voice. After I get my debt paid, I'm going to start all over and do things much differently...smarter. This car will be one of my drives for a distant-future build, believe me.
Oh yeah, I hope you don't have a GF or wife, cuz man...I don't know ANY woman that would put up with a guy with a project of a car like that!
Re: Phase I done, Phase II-interior almost done, and now Phase III-drivetrain (454 LS
very nice
