yea i got my first car last winter for my 16th birthday a 1990 firebird formula with a 305 i switched it to a 350 this summer, im in the 11th grade and i have the fastest car in the parking lot.
Thirdgen's weren't born yet when I was in HS
My first car was a '66 impala 2dr fstbk, 283 4bbl Powerglide duals, A/C.
First Gens wern't born until my senior year. My first ride was a black '50 Mercury Club Coupe, (think James Dean) When I graduated I was driving a '62 Belair 283 three on the tree. First f-body '70 Z28 . Then a '69 Firebird (still in the garage). Bought my '85 IROC in '95.
Lucky , I have a 92 Z28 with a 350tpi , its my senior year and I am not the fastest car out there, there are too many kids who have rich parents that get them nice cars. There are 3 other 3rd gens in my parkin lot 2-Rs and 1-is a firbird. I am the fastest out of all of them.
One of the kids that i play football with has a teal 91 rs. Our cars were exactly the same (until i started the fix'er up process) and I was always gettin him in trouble because I would do burnouts in the parkin lot and they would think it was him.
The fastest vehicle in my parkin lot is a Ford F150 Boss, it is an amazing truck, it is compltly redone all race performance, it has a procharger on it, and has a nitrous kit with 2-10lbs bottles in the back that he has never used. To give you an example of how fast this truck is; the first day the new highway opened in our town we were all drag racing on it. I was doing 115mph and passed him as he was cruising around 80. The next thing I know he is passing me at 3/4 throttle as i am smashed, and it seems like i am going 65 and he is doin 80. Lets just say that was a reallly fun night for us all.
I had mine my 92 camaro rs 2nd half of sophmore year and the only thing I did to it was put a cd player in it. I wish I could have done more mods to her back then but shortly after I was out of school in 06 I was having a problems with her. she left me stranded a few times so I parked her for awhile got a 92 regal for free drove that for about a year til the motor went on that fixed the iacv which at first didn't seem to do ne thing but after a few start ups she came back to her senses and r. better then I started driving her and now I just wish I could do more but I lost my job so I'm kinda stuck right now.
I wish I could do more to mine, but with money being tight and having to pay for gas, insurance, and car payments, I havnt been able to do much. I am currently switching to carburated and Ive got the car primed, but i have to do some body work before I can get her painted. I have so many things to do to this car that I am in the process of, right before the timing jumped I blew my 3000watt amp going to my 2-12" subs, so that is another thing I have to spend money on. I have to get a new rearend cause my c clip broke we think and thats gunna cost about 200 for one out of 4th gen camaro. Im wanting to get the seats reupholstered and I need a new headliner too. I also have to finish the fiberglassing of the custom center console and the custom instrument panel I made. I also need to install my new flip out dvd player and install the gauges. I am hoping that I can get this car finished, I really dont want to have to get rid of it. I am also trying to find a sponsor to help me out some, with my interior and engine mainly. Its a hard project to take on but she should look great by the time im finished.
I had a 86 commodore Berlina which I did up from year 10 to senior year. Was a really good car. Fair amount of power from the V6. Got me noticed, if you know what I mean. After senior year, I started to work at the same school I graduated from and picked up my 82 Trans Am, which was a daily driver for about 6 years. It come with a 350 Chevy, spends most of its time in the shed, slowly getting fixed up. It has run like a true champ, kept the engine running strong. Still need a bit of body and paint work though.
Yes, my Camaro became mine in my sophomore year tho my family had had it since I was 5 years old. Wish I had the pic of me stand next to it when he got it.
The day it became my car (the paint was just holding on, by the end of my senior year almost all the clear coat was off.)
