yea i got my first car last winter for my 16th birthday a 1990 firebird formula with a 305 i switched it to a 350 this summer, im in the 11th grade and i have the fastest car in the parking lot.
Thirdgen's weren't born yet when I was in HS
My first car was a '66 impala 2dr fstbk, 283 4bbl Powerglide duals, A/C.
First Gens wern't born until my senior year. My first ride was a black '50 Mercury Club Coupe, (think James Dean) When I graduated I was driving a '62 Belair 283 three on the tree. First f-body '70 Z28 . Then a '69 Firebird (still in the garage). Bought my '85 IROC in '95.
Lucky , I have a 92 Z28 with a 350tpi , its my senior year and I am not the fastest car out there, there are too many kids who have rich parents that get them nice cars. There are 3 other 3rd gens in my parkin lot 2-Rs and 1-is a firbird. I am the fastest out of all of them.
One of the kids that i play football with has a teal 91 rs. Our cars were exactly the same (until i started the fix'er up process) and I was always gettin him in trouble because I would do burnouts in the parkin lot and they would think it was him.
The fastest vehicle in my parkin lot is a Ford F150 Boss, it is an amazing truck, it is compltly redone all race performance, it has a procharger on it, and has a nitrous kit with 2-10lbs bottles in the back that he has never used. To give you an example of how fast this truck is; the first day the new highway opened in our town we were all drag racing on it. I was doing 115mph and passed him as he was cruising around 80. The next thing I know he is passing me at 3/4 throttle as i am smashed, and it seems like i am going 65 and he is doin 80. Lets just say that was a reallly fun night for us all.
I had mine my 92 camaro rs 2nd half of sophmore year and the only thing I did to it was put a cd player in it. I wish I could have done more mods to her back then but shortly after I was out of school in 06 I was having a problems with her. she left me stranded a few times so I parked her for awhile got a 92 regal for free drove that for about a year til the motor went on that fixed the iacv which at first didn't seem to do ne thing but after a few start ups she came back to her senses and r. better then I started driving her and now I just wish I could do more but I lost my job so I'm kinda stuck right now.
I wish I could do more to mine, but with money being tight and having to pay for gas, insurance, and car payments, I havnt been able to do much. I am currently switching to carburated and Ive got the car primed, but i have to do some body work before I can get her painted. I have so many things to do to this car that I am in the process of, right before the timing jumped I blew my 3000watt amp going to my 2-12" subs, so that is another thing I have to spend money on. I have to get a new rearend cause my c clip broke we think and thats gunna cost about 200 for one out of 4th gen camaro. Im wanting to get the seats reupholstered and I need a new headliner too. I also have to finish the fiberglassing of the custom center console and the custom instrument panel I made. I also need to install my new flip out dvd player and install the gauges. I am hoping that I can get this car finished, I really dont want to have to get rid of it. I am also trying to find a sponsor to help me out some, with my interior and engine mainly. Its a hard project to take on but she should look great by the time im finished.
I had a 86 commodore Berlina which I did up from year 10 to senior year. Was a really good car. Fair amount of power from the V6. Got me noticed, if you know what I mean. After senior year, I started to work at the same school I graduated from and picked up my 82 Trans Am, which was a daily driver for about 6 years. It come with a 350 Chevy, spends most of its time in the shed, slowly getting fixed up. It has run like a true champ, kept the engine running strong. Still need a bit of body and paint work though.
Yes, my Camaro became mine in my sophomore year tho my family had had it since I was 5 years old. Wish I had the pic of me stand next to it when he got it.
The day it became my car (the paint was just holding on, by the end of my senior year almost all the clear coat was off.)
Now:

NO. but of course i havent even reached HS yet! im still in 7th grade and my 87 iroc got fixed up earlier last summer. i brag to everyone about it and make sure there daddy's car isnt better then mine lol. and just to let ya know im not 1 of those punks that treat there car like a p.o.s. i love my car and baby it i wash her weekly and wax 2times a month and even cleaned my garage a couple weeks ago just so she doesnt have to sit outside and trust me THAT GARAGE WAS AN MESS. my mom wants it to be a storage garage but hey i cleaned it and its gonna be my car garage. yes i know taking care of a car isnt just washing it, i make sure everything is running 110% and do the most i can.
I got mine brand new for my 16th birthday in 1989..
kept it all these years...spent about 9 years in storage..
always dreamed about cruising in it again. I spent a pretty penny on the rebuild
but she is born again HARD..
a little lesson...never ever, ever get rid of your first true RIDE. Unless of course it was a honda or something, then thats ok.
I bought my '86 Z (carbed 305) a year after graduating in '92, but I dreamed about it all thoughout H.S. I now own my second '86 Z (Iroc w/305 TPI) and these cars are awsome. I went thru a 15 year period of owning a BB '67 chevelle and '94 corvette, but the whole time all I could think about was that dam camaro. I finally bought another one this year and am happy as can be. Friends think Im nuts, but I really do not miss the chevelle or the vette.
Thirdgen's weren't born yet when I was in HS
My first car was a '66 impala 2dr fstbk, 283 4bbl Powerglide duals, A/C.
That was my dad's first car, minus the 4bbl and A/C. His was red.
I bought an '86 IROC near the end of senior year of HS. I bought it simply because I had always liked them, and I wanted a sporty car. The FI, overdrive, working A/C, pw, pl, cruise, etc were very nice for once (my '69 Impala and '87 Celebrity had/have few options), and the car was powerful (to me) to boot. I fell in love with it, but it was stolen a year later. That car is the reason I have four of them now. I lost one and for some reason, felt the need to over-compensate.
I had a 1987 Firebird it was a V6 but I loved that car all black in and out it was pretty damn clean, then crashed it and parted it out lol then gota 89 irocz for free which was totaled and parted that out then bought my 91 Z after i graduated

Current Mods: Full exhaust, Edelbrock headers with 3in Ypipe, Magnaflow free flow cat, Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust, Ford Racing 19lbs Injectors, BBK Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, AC delete, Stock G92 Aluminum drive shaft. More mods to come.
i got my 91 camaro rs, the summer after my 8th grade year. i was saving up money and we started working on it after my freshman year, i saved up and bought a 4inch good mark cowl hood, some 18 inch irocs new h4 head lights, parking lights new seats and just about everything else before we painted it, today was the first day i drove it to school and tis my senoir year, the car is hugger orange with white strips that go half way down the nose(idk how to get pictures on here) i built the car to be drove so it has all new soffseal weather stripping. ilove the car. everyone in my school has been telling me how much they liked it. ill have pictures of it on here soon, when i figure it out.lol
Graduated last year and had an 88' maroon GTA, only got to drive her when the snow was gone (april). But man the younger girls just cling on when you have a gorgeous car. After I messed around with a few mods I raced an 01' RSX type s with a "whipple" charger and a tune. Whooped him outta the dig and he was starting to gain but ran outta room. So I held him off until about 100km/h. I consider that a win.
All in all having my GTA was one of my greatest memories from high school, it gave me the freedom to go to subway during spares and make it back for next period. I've had my GTA since november 12, 2008 and I can truly say that I am in love. She just came out of paint in october and been under 2 covers and a tarp since. I do not ever plan on selling it.

Got my TA in the fall of '06, graduated in '08. Teenage girl driver backed into it once... scuffed my bumper, busted out the entire left taillight of her rice, lol. I swear, you could back into a building with a Third Gen and bring down a wall
I loved that rusted out piece of junk... still do, lol. Now I'm using him in college, never going to get rid of him.
A guy cut me off in a traffic circle and destroyed my passenger side fender and hood. Had to drive it like that for months (7 to be exact). Long story short his insurance company finally came through and claim it took a while because I didn't have collision.. Well no **** I was 17 at the time..
I got my bird during the last few days of junior year. it was during finals week, so my test scores weren't that great due to my friends and I cruising around in it. It just has the 305, but it still sounds great with flowmasters on it, or at least much better than the high pitched yelping of the ricers in the school parking lot ha ha
haha i hate to admit it but i dont have a thirdgen yet. but im only in 10th grade right now and i have been saving up for a thirdgen camaro, still saving too. (plus im getting a job soon so it will go by faster). but i cant wait til i get one its gonna be my baby. anyway im so jealous of readin bout all these kids my age who already got one! haha oh well... my day will come.
trust me, the wait is worth it. when i told people that i bought an 87 trans am, they thought it must be a POS because its 80's GM but when they saw it they were like wow thats a pretty sick ride ( the digital dash really threw them a curve ball haha). too bad some of them still dont like it and would rather have their focus or accord
man i am a junior and im the only true muscle car in lot besides 2 teachers. and another ****** mustang his dumb@** doesnt know crap about a car.but besides the point im a junior in hs and with a 3rd gen
my first was a 89 formula....sadly i don't have pictures, how ever my second was a 85 T/A that i transplanted a 383 into....yeah englishtown kicked me off first pass

haha yea how the hell could you rather choose a honda over a camaro? haha it makes no sense at all. maybe because of the gas mileage. (but id pay more for gas to have a bad a$$ car!)

yea man i hate when guys have a camaro or mustang or something and know nothing about their car except that its a ford or chevy and/or it has a V8. like a year ago when i found out i wanted a thirdgen ive been teaching myslef a lot about them and car stuff in general. ive also been askin my dad a lot of questions about parts on a engine etc. to help me learn everything faster. (good guy for me to ask because he has a 1972 Camaro SS with a 454 in it.) its not done yet though.
It's the worst when they know nothing and don't know how to drive, and you pull up beside an 08 GT with an older couple in it, and all he has to do is push the pedal to the floor and he wins..

ya i took german this year and it sucks so im not doing it after this year and am gonna go to auto class next year instead
I got my '86 Iroc when I was 15 ('04). I finally got to drive it to school during the last week of football my junior year('05). I got to drive it the rest of my junior year and senior year. I am now a junior at a private college, and I drive my IROC every day. There nothing better than parking inbetween a Mercedes and a Lexus and still drawing the most attention. Ill die with a picture of my car in the casket.
