I'm buying a camaro from this guy, planning on restoring it. It's missing a front bumper though, so at the very least, I need a bumper. However, I like the Heritage Edition ground effects, so I was planning on outfitting it with those instead. Does anyone know where I could get the Heritage Edition, or at the very least, a front bumper? Thanks.
hey welcome to the TGO. I also have decided to update my ground effects and i went to the local junk yard and got them... there were 2 91-92 rs camaros there and i got the complete ground effect kit for about 150. I got there so much i get deals from them. The front chin spoiler only cost $10. thats a steal. There were 2 of them there so i could pick and choose but the other cars front bumper was crushed. Just check bone yards and you will find them. Or in the classified section and ebay. -Matt

Thanks. I'll try checking the junk yards, but just in case they don't have them, are there any retro manufacturers for these parts? It might be more expensive, but it'd certainly be easier to get my hands on in case I can't find any junk camaros- that is if they're made.
i know that classic industries sells the front ground effects. Also hawks third gen which is a sponsor at the top of the page sells new and used body parts along with ground effects. Good luck man and post pics if you find any.
Ah, it seems I was misinformed. My mistake. Heritage edition is simply the 25th edition stripes and such. I meant 91-92 camaro ground effects. Sorry about that. I'mma n00b. >.>
nah man dont worry about it... i have been there before.. after about 3-4 years of playing with camaros i have learned alot about them. Dont worry about it. Good luck man -Matt

So the main problems go something like this, before I can do work on it:
Good sized rust hole in the driver side floor.
Bit of rust on the outside.
Needs new spark plugs.
Missing a bumper.
Altogether for cosmetic upgrades, I plan on: A new dash, taking out the back seats, getting new front seats (Leather?) Black/candy apple red color scheme. Outside I want a 91-92 body kit and candy apple red paint w/ Matte black GT stripes. Lower the suspension, and put staggered matte black racing alloys on it. How's it sound?
sounds pretty good man... to give you my ideas... i have gotten the complete 91-92 kit and i plan to buy the ss hood. For paint i want black with red racing stripes and iroc replicas. I have a while to go i need 2 fenders and a nose, pass. manual mirror and im gonna get another hatch with rear window defrost and the ss hood. thats it. good luck and post some pics man its more fun! -Matt Before and Today... Check out that windshield :P been a while since i had one of those lol

Also man just wanted to let you know that i have picked up other side skirts the ones with the screw holes are gonna be trashed when i start body work in spring. I already have replacements. lol
For four fifty I think it's a great deal... just gotta weld some sheet metal on the floor where there's a rust hole, and I'm good. Shouldn't take much. I can see potential in it.. But I might just be crazy. Opinions are great.
yea they have the holes in them (in the pics) and they could use a lil work BUT i wont need them at all... the ones i got are mint. So i really have no use with them. -Matt
well man i could get better pics for you first like i said a lil work and elbow grease and they should do fine. I dont have time to get them off yet tho due to i can drive the car with my others on because the tires are to high profile and rub some and i dont want to mess up the new ground effects like the other owners did... the front inside edge is kinda worn down but not too bad. It will be a bit before i could take them off and send them but once i get front tires then i can swap out the kits. then i dont have antyhing to do with them... IF NOT i might be able to get a set... (door and rocker panel) off the junk cars here i believe they were good but one might not be if not i could just use the one off my car and send them but it could be about early spring before i get a chance to... if interested man i have the door fillers and if you could wait i could send pics to you and let you decide and then work out somthing. sorry this is so long man. just let me know if you could wait for a bit. -Matt

Yeah haha no problem.. I don't expect it to be any rush, send em whenever you can, I don't care. I have plenty of work to do on it anyways.. there's welding and filling to do on the floor panel and adjacent door. I can occupy myself for a while before I even think of working on the body kit.
well man whats your email? I can try to find pics for you and then you just give me an idea of what youd pay and then we'll find out shipping let me know man -Matt
My friend's grandfather has been keeping it garaged for about twenty years. I'm 99 percent sure it's what he says it is- it has the light on the hatchback- an 86 feature, but a 350 cid engine. Ergo- 86 IROC-Z. It has only 40,000 original miles on it, and is in great condition. It needs a minor amount of body work- One of the side skirts is ripped and there's a crack in the windshield. Besides that, it's mint. I'll get some pictures next time I go to his garage.
hey man i have the door ground effects from a 1991 camaro already off if you are still wanting to convert. They are in good shape. One needs 3 little "rivets or bolts to lock the body kit in place. Goood shape tho. $30+ shipping obo -Matt
