Chevrolet never made white paint for a Camero. Now if you were looking for white paint for a Camaro, that's a different story. How can people own these cars, come to message boards full of enthusiasts about these cars and not have a clue how to spell the car name? That's an instant turn off to me.

Thank you for pointing that out, now I don't have to.
The thing is guys many people who say camero are typing that way to distinguish their accent. Some people when they speak(not typing online) have an accent that sounds more like camero than camaro and thats how they type it. Its not because their dumb and think the name is spelt differently.
Just because people speak with an accent doesn't excuse the spelling of a proper noun. I hear people adding an "r" sound to the word wash when they talk, so is it acceptable for them to type warsh? Some people in the upper midwest pronounce the "o" as "aw" Am I to expect them to write a person named Don as Dawn because of the way they speak it? I don't think so. That was a very lame excuse.
C'mon guys...He's asking a perfectly legitimate question...and we're flaming him for it??? What has happened to this site? I haven't been on in more than a year and this crap is still going on? I "fatfinger" my typing all the time,I just try to go back and re-read ....And Scott...of all people, you're a mod dude...
one2burn:
The correct answer is, you cannot get "original paint" for your Camaro...GM does not use any one specific paint...it's whomever is the "flavor of the month" or more truthfully whomever is going to "give them the most" for their money. California's plant may have used PPG at the time, or Dupont...just matters which one they were under contract with at the time.
And it's the decision of each plant...As far as I know, the contracts were never national. Detroit, Canada, Texas...all different. when the contract is up the next guy steps in....
Just go to your local Auto supply store that sells paint. Most of them have a "good" Base-clear" line and a "cheaper" line. just look at what is in your budget...just be careful out there..It can add up quickly.
Being a moderator does not exclude me from bringing it to the attention of another user that they should know how to spell the car they're asking about. People need to proof read their posts and speak correctly. I've also made it known that short cutting the English language using text messaging shortcuts isn't acceptable either.
Well, I sure learn something today. first I think everyone knew that he was talking about a Camaro and also that I am spose to be turn on by this car message board so here something to turn you back on. Enjoy
