Is that the dark mettalic blue? If so, a black pearl would look good mixed into the black....

Re: Idea for Paint Job

Yeah I think It is, I kinda thought the same thing, if i do it I plan on smoking out the lights all around as well. the gas cap will more than likely be blue, when i bought my car the gas cover was red and all I had was flat black spray paint and It came out kinda cool looking.

Re: Idea for Paint Job

What would look really cool if you want to make a statement would be to spray the taillights with a mixture of Black tint, pearl black and clear. That would look killer, and I'm pretty sure you wont see another one like it!!!
Also, before you cut the roof, Install WELD-IN subframe connectors. You will be really happy you did. I have two T-top cars and one hardtop car. All three have SFC's and the T-top cars are only about as stiff as the hardtop was without SFC's. It takes a lot out of them.

Re: Idea for Paint Job

that sounds pretty sweet there is a guy by me selling a set of stock tail lights cheap, I'm actually having the roof done by a friend who is a very talented body man, I also plan on getting SFCs, don't worry I've put plenty of thought into it

It sound like you have put a lot of thought into it. So many people dont!! A talented bodyman is a must. Where are you located? I have a friend who is cutting up a really nice 87 IROC with T-tops. It wouldnt take much to get you the roof...

Re: Idea for Paint Job

i would definatly paint the gas door body color if not the gas door and the door handle. but i like the idea of black ground effects and black deck lid. two questions, What is the legal window tint where you live? and would you be painting the hood black or blue?

Re: Idea for Paint Job

not sure on the tint laws exactly, also I dont have ground effects. The deck lid itself will be blue like the car, The spoiler will not have paint, I have the heavy "whale Tail" spoiler and paint doesnt stick very well, it cracks easy and fast. not the best pic but hey i did it in paint

Great color and congrats on making the conversion to a t-top (no better way to enjoy the summer unless you own a boat!).
