I need Help Choosing a hood
I am buying this car Sunday morning and it needs a hood. here are my questions:
Will a scoop hood fit this car? maybe the stinger old corvette style?
If not, what size cowl will I need? I'm not a fan of huge cowls.
If I get the stinger hood, how hard is it to make it functional?
Car is a '91 Camaro with a 454:

A harwood bolt on 4" cowl should solve any clearance problems.
I guess ya just need to make one if ya don't like whats already there,or lack there of!LOL!

Re: I need Help Choosing a hood
i got a big block stinger hood and i modified it to look like a corvette stinger hood. i've got pics in the fabrication section (custom things i've done to a 91 Z) as for making it functional dont cut out the front, make it work like cowl induction thats my plan.

How hard would it be to make a shaker/cut a hole in the hood and put on a scoop...I'm looking for something on the cheap.

Buy a used hood out of a junkyard and take a saw to it? lol. Whatever you want man, we're just trying to hook you up with some style.

I know. I'm not going to hack anything. This car's going to be one heck of a sleeper...until you turn it on...

I agree. I think it will fit with a low profile air clearer. How hard would it be to make it functional?

It takes a good amount of fabrication skill to make it look right, there was a guy on here who did it on a bird, if you search you should be able to find it, he used a shaker setup from a 2nd gen trans am IIRC, it looks really cool IMHO.. Edit: Found it.

I like my hood (Daytona hood) see sig for it aka the pic below or VGarage. Also best place to get a cheap hood is craigslist.
