I'm not a fan. What a waste. At least you didn't ruin a V8 thirdgen that has any value.

dont listen to him ^ i think the rims are to big, as will most people on this sight, but overall it looks better than before, and again other than the rims your taking the car in the right direction

well you said the magic words of what do you think so your gonna get alot of negative responses so dont get angry.......

IMO paint looks good, but man like said before already no on the rims.....the style aint that bad but not the size go smaller 17s maybe 18s...hell ive even seen 20s but that was really pushing the taste barrier....sell those things buy some clean *** 17s and have some money left over for gas....all you have done with those rims is make a V6 car even slower, and caused your car to become unsafe, cause there is no way in hell that thing is going to stop quickly. I dont even want to think of what it has done to your handleing....I almost wish theyd have a law making it illegal to change your rims by more then 3in from stock. But then that would open up the doors for other laws against modification so yeah ill stop rambling....

Re: 1991 camaro on 22"s, Carlos206

I'm going to agree with the before posters and say the paint looks great, I love black on these cars. I am not a fan of large diameter wheels though, glad to see you "downgraded" to some black 20's. We just need to get you to upgrade to 2 to 3 more inches smaller and you'll be sittin' right. Honestly the F-bodies really need some sidewalls on their tires to ride correctly and comfortably (as you have already seen). It's all up to the owner in the end though, if I didn't have to run 16s or 17s to clear braking systems, I personally wouldn't give up my 15s.

Not bad looking if your going for style, but in my book i like being fast better then looking good. not bad looking, i thought it was going to be a DONK..... That would have been bad.

not nearly as bad as I was expecting after the title... any pics from other angles? looks like it needs to be lowered..

may not be my style but I'll say it doesn't look bad, Ive seen much worse on thirdgens... IMO just run what rims you want, its not like its a permanent mod, 5 lugs and you can swap the stockers back on there if need be.

CAMARO. not CADILLAC.

waste of money.. you could have bought a great exhaust. or a cowl induction hood. or another car..

nice paint though.

I always have lightweight wheels on my cars due to drag racing, so i am usually rolling on 15"s! But I will say I think it looks pretty good man!
I still prefer the hot rod look, but that looks nice.

Re: 1991 camaro on 22"s, Carlos206

not my particular taste, but I've seen MUCH WORSE... there's a third gen rolling around here (saw it again this morning) w/a camaro on I'm guessing an old school s-10 frame w/some 26's that just looks like crap. I understand that the big rims/tires (DONK) style is big w/some circles these days, I just can't get behind it as a personal style. Random tangent, DONK is an accurate description since most folks who drive them are jackasses.

Even with the "downgrade" to 20's I hope you've done something about the changes in steering geometry, and extra rotational mass the stock equipment was never intended to compensate for.

i'll give it this, atleast the fender gap is kept reasonable and he isnt sitting high enough to do an oil change without having to raise the car like some donk rides. i myself am a 16-17 in wheel fan but in his case he kept a clean stance for a wheel that size.
oh, a on the paint.

I think the car itself looks good. The rims are definately too big. Stick with the 16"-17" IMO

I would like to see the pics with the 20's, I trying to figure out what size to put on mine, jumping back and forth between 17's and 18's. Paint looks good, huge improvement on that part. I would suggest getting some clear side markers for the fender lights though, it will give it a bit more of a cleaner look.

Anything bigger than a 17" rim is a waste in my opinion, I think it looks out of place with 22's...... but hey at least your a good sport about it.

I've seen guys post, get a negative response and eventually get banned because they lose their temper.

Stay cool

its not primered it still silver. havent gotten a chance to paint it yet. i didnt spend 1000 dollars on a silver hood did i? it was free, when you need a hood your not going to be picky. if i were to spend 1000 dollars i wouldnt have gotten something that didnt match my car. like he did.

why do threads like this always turn sour? not every car is the same. if someone likes 22 inch rims then hes gonna buy 22inch rims if someone hasnt gotten around to painting his car yet well then it aint painted yet, will i loose sleep over it? no (probably cuz half my car is primer and the other half is blue) anyway im not a fan of 22 inch rims on these cars. the profile of a thirdgen just looks "low" and fast, not meant for pizza pans with rubber bands around them. that aside, PLEASE post pics with the new rims asap because that car looks so damn clean!

didnt turn sour until sailtexas decided to bag on people cause they dont have any money to paint their car. you wanna come paint my hood sailtexas? the DIFFERENCE is between mine and his car is that i DID NOT PAY to have my car missmatched. HE DID. he paid GOOD money to screw up his car. i didnt pay a dime to get this hood. i wouldnt pay a thousand bucks to get something that didnt work for my car. the next time you dont have a job and dont have any source of income and your hood flys off your car, i dont think your going to spend 100 dollars on a used hood and then spend another 150 to paint it. pretty sure if somebody GIVES you a hood then your going to take it. so do me a favor, and get the **** off my case.

sailstexas i know how to paint a car. my grandpa has painted cars for 40 years and hes won NUMEROUS awards for his paint. dont tell me i cant paint a car. if you read correctly i said i CANT AFFORD TO PAINT MY CAR. i quarentee i can paint better than you. guarentee. obviously you cant read so ill say it one more time. I HAVE NO INCOME. I DONT HAVE MONEY TO PAINT MY CAR. I HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO TO MY CAR BEFORE I PAINT THE HOOD. LIKE PUT MY NEW 350 IN IT. ID RATHER MAKE MY CAR RUN AND HAVE IT LOOK LIKE **** THEN HAVE IT LOOK LIKE A BRAND NEW CAR AND HAVE IT RUN LIKE ****. BEFORE YOU GO JUDGING PEOPLE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW EVERYTHING.

the rims look better. i know that 90% of the people on this thread didnt wanna see anymore pics of the car with 22's so why dont you critisize them as well? seriously kid **** off and go do your homework.

Brennan: good looking dude. finally i get a good reaction. from someone.
the reason i got the v6 in it was beacuse at the time i got him, i was in school(still am) and the GAS was crazy high almost 5 bucks a gallon in washington. so i decided to got to a v6 camaro from a v8 i had in my old el camino. but yeah.

Ugh....thank you for posting the 22" shots (not shotz). Now I know I'll never have to spend money on that size. The 20" are a nice color but the width is way too skinny for my liking. Are those 20x8's?? So far the best combo I've seen to date has been a 18 or 19 x 10 (not sure on the diameter but I remember the width) and a 17 or 18 front. The fronts and rears were 1" apart from one another. Good luck with the wheels though, if this is your first set of low profile tires and big rim combo you're going to want to avoid potholes and high speed bumps at all costs, unless you light having to get the dents / dings fixed in the wheels. Other than that, nice looking car.

calm down... both of you

carlos - the black rims look real good, I personally wouldn't go that big but you pulled it off!!

ca[maro]88 - I'd reccommend editing all your posts before a mod sees them... you'll (hopefully) be banned faster then you can edit them. although maybe if you get banned you can spend your time looking for a job instead of ragging on other peoples pride and joy. take your aggression out elsewhere.. and I'm sure now that I've called you out, judging by the immaturity you've presented so far your going to make fun of my car; so I'll give you the go ahead.

Re: 1991 camaro on 22"s, Carlos206

TPIC. mind your own business thank you. dont tell me to look for a job because i already am. not sure about you but i dont look for a job 14 hours a day. pretty sure bein on my computer is a way to escape reality and talk about cars. obviously cant do that. so if a mod is going to ban me i dont blame them. i got a little mad because people dont need to make fun of people because they cont afford to paint their car. he asked if people like his rims. we said no. i never asked for people to talk about my car, and people did it anyway. why did they do it? because people like to minipulate people when somebodys car isnt up to their "standards" am i racist, yes i am. do i ever show it, no i dont. i usually keep my comments to myself unless somebody comes out of nowhere and decides to critisize me because my hood is the wrong color. and because i was laid off. talkin about cars is one thing, making fun of somebody is wrong. i didnt make fun of carlos's car, he asked for my opinion and i gave it to him. i told him i think the wheels suck. thats the end of this discussion. please everybody just lay off critisizing me. i enjoy this site because i like to see things i can do to my car, but any thread i go to 50% of them are people being a bunch drama queens.

sorry carlos. i like your car. just wasnt wild about the rims. i hate my car. i hate the color of it. i hate the power it has. if i had the money that some people on this site had, it would be a different color and it would be very very fast. but its not. its not the greatest car on this site. its not even close. but it IS a camaro. id rather ride around in a junk camaro, then ride around in a nice ford escort.
