| Re: painted wheels Aircraft alumnimum stripper works good on the wheels and will not hurt the base metal. The problem is it will strip the clear coat off the lips. But I would suggest sanding and polishing the parts you want to remain unpainted. You can also re-clearcoat it but make sure you have all the dust/dirt/grease and brake dust off the wheels or it will yellow the clear coat when you spray it. The wheel refinishing kit from east wood works great. Just make sure you have either a good drill or a grinder motor with a extension because it will burn out cheap drills.

btw the wheels on my car were painted white when I bought them for 100 bucks, no curb rash perfically straight wheels.
