Re: bra yay or nay

Normally, I would say no, please dont put a bra on it. I can't stand them. However, if its going to be a couple years before you get it painted, I would put one on to protect the nose. If it's only going to be a few months, I wouldn't worry about putting one on. Do you already have the bra or will you be buying one? The cost of it will have to figure into the decision as well.

Id say get it because it's cheap and it will protect but as soon as you get your car painted, burn that thing. I'm not at all a fan of bras on are cars.

I actually disagree with all of you I wish i had a bra for regular driving and just take it off for cruises i knew i wasnt going to scrape anything on because this is the outcome

you can plainly see the scrape marks from just regular driving into parking lots etc

Well in doubt women should probably wear a bra. Bras on cars are usually covering damage not protecting from damage.

not really,a bra is very thin vinyl and would not keep the paint protected from a scrape like that.
I remember hitting a steep drive in my old car (87 iroc) and scraped the crap out of the bra and the paint.
I was left with a huge piece of the bra dangling down in the center and yellow scuff mark instead of black paint.

Re: bra yay or nay

If you get one follow the instructions that came with it. I had one on mine and I didn't, silly me. Now I have rust on the nose of the hood, hopefully not bad enough that I need to replace. It also dulled the paint, and the nose bra needs (at least the one I had) to have velcro strips stuck to the bumper in front of the headlights.

Just thought I'd add that. If I ever have one again, it'll come off every day. I thought I was taking it off enough but I guess not

Re: bra yay or nay

i have a bra on my bonneville, it looks good on rounded cars, not on squared cars, my uncle has a bra on his 86 maro and i don't like it. bras do help protect, i bumped into someones trailer hitch receiver, it punched a hole in the bra but did not scuff the bumper at all. it probably saved my bumper. so they do help, but i don't like them on our cars, so i say no.

Wanted an early 80's cutlass, but couldn't find a decent one.... Had to settle for the Regal.... Had in the past a 79' cutty and a 81' cutty --- but NO BRA!
