Replacing Driver/Passenger Windows

Does Anybody know what kind/size of rivets are needed to reinstall the side windows in a 89 Trans am. I have bought the new window, and i know that the rivets need to be drilled out to remove the old window. so if i could get those before i tackle it, it would save time. Also Is there a Write up for replacing the Door Windows??

Re: Replacing Driver/Passenger Windows

the only rivets should be ones that hold the regulators to the door shells

use machine screws and nuts to reattach them

Re: Replacing Driver/Passenger Windows

I know I'm just repeating what others have said, but stick with nuts and bolts. It makes things much easier if you ever have to do the job again. If you're worried about the nuts coming off, get locking nuts or put a dab of locktite on there.

Re: Replacing Driver/Passenger Windows

This site covers the installation well: it points out that rivets won't loosen over time. But I suppose lock nuts wouldn't either.
