I have a 1991 Z28 that I am taking to have painted tomorrow....it is bright red. Any idea whatthe factory color of the hood blister inserts is supposed to be??

All the ones I ever saw were black.

Blisters were always body color (91-92). Louvers were always flat black (85-90). So in your case....paint them red.

yes,the blisters themselves are painted body color but the little inserts the original poster asked about are always black from factory as far as I know.Were not talking about louvers that I can see?

I have a 92 Z28 mine are a mat black the same as my door handles,headlight pots etc.I dont think a flat black would look good.

ok, I know this post is a bit old, but I just finished the paint job (I will post it on here soon). Somewhere there must be sopmething from GM that says what color the headlamp pockets and hood blister inserts should be. Most of what I have read says they should be black, but is it flat, semi gloss, 30% gloss, etc... I have seen all kinds of things; anyone got the official GM info?

The 91-92 Z28 cars came factory with the headlight pockets and the foglight grills in satin/semi-gloss black. The hood blisters came body color. I've seen these cars for years and years...and thats how they came. We've for a 78 mile 1991 Z28 1LE Camaro in the showroom right now.....doesn't get much more factory then that...and it has body colored hood blisters, semi-gloss headlight pockets, and grill.
