Removing Antenna

Swapping fenders. One has an antenna the other doesn't. I unscrewed the actual antenna but cannot figure out how to get the part that holds it on out. Special tool?

the top piece just unscrews. i think they may make a tool to fit the four small slots in that piece but you can use channel locks but you may want to wrap it in a towel to avoid scratching it.

I usually end up cutting the nut off as here in MN they are corroded on pretty good. Replacements are cheap and easy to find. (the nut)

The base has a long bracket on it that bolts somewhere down in the fender. Can't quite remember where. PITA to get to though.
