Fiberglass Aftermarket Hood...do I need insulation?

Okay...I'm sure this is a stupid question for veteran Camaro fans, but I am new to upgrading. I just purchased a gently used fiberglass cowl/louver hood recently to restore my baby after a wreck and was wondering if I need to get insulation to go with it; if so, would the same insulation that fits an original steel hood be what I need to get, or do I need something specifically meant for fiberglass? Thanks in advance.

You'll be fine without the insulation on the new fiberglass hood.

The hood insulation does not protect the hood from heat like so many believe. It was installed to dampen/muffle the engine sound. That's it! You don't need it. You should see the factory air intake on my Silverado. It is a huge chunk of plastic with baffles to channel the air and silence the intake. that's why adding an air tube increases the engine roar. The manufacturers are designing for silence.
