The cars don't look right without a spoiler IMO. I'm a fan of the aerowing, get the Hawk's fiberglass one if possible, it's lighter and a lot more durable in that it isn't rubber that will fall off eventually. Either that or get a regular pedestal spoiler off a Firebird for it. I have one of those if you're interested.

Re: 1989 Firebird Resto.

Holy crap is that the same fender?? Or did he use a different one. If its the same fender, props to your friends dad. He's doing some great work.

Spoilerless can look good. Depends on color, wheels, stance...etc. Atleast in my opinion. If you look around on here you'll find a few pics of birds without spoilers.

Keep us posted on the progress!

'91-'92 wrap around or spoiler-less.

I'm going spoiler-less with my '91.

Re: 1989 Firebird Resto.

I recommend getting the correct fiberglass replacement spoiler from Hawks, some of us went in on a group buy for $299 each, not sure if it still stands. Might as well do it right and be done with it.

The regular pedestal spoiler will make it look like a base Firebird. No spoiler at all makes these cars look too flat, IMO.

Well I had him fill in the holes so it will at least be spoilerless for a little while, I will have to see if i like it or not

Here are some more pics of the hood ...it had typical GM paint flake problems so he stripped all the rest off

Thats some really nice work, looks like loads of fun too! You know, I never knew those induction hoods where metal, for some reason I always figured them for fiberglass. Never actually had or worked on one before.

Re: 1989 Firebird Resto.

Oh man, that looks great! I love the smurf blue, its the perfect color. And so quick too, I wish my projects would go so smooth and fast! I painted my Fiero in an almost identicle color of blue, the chicks love it. Poor thing is in storage right now awaiting an Engine overhaul, but I pulled the cover back and let it peep out a bit. Please ignore the parts sitting on the roof, from my other restore project on my 91 Bird.

Your Firebird and my Fiero should get together some time and make babies, they would be very attractive I do believe!
