Ok i just did all of this body work and paint stuff on my car, took me like seven weeks, and go to tape off the lights, i flip the switch and, of course, the drivers goes up and passenger is motionless... two days later its fine again... i hate this issue, seems like a sign something is breaking... any ideas?...
Did you check all your connections? How about the connection to the headlight relay on the firewall? The relay might be trying to take a crap on you too.

ok the relay on the firewall was my guess... are there two? one for each side or is it the one right next to the wiper motor... can these be taken apart? i like to rebuild stupid stuff like that if it needs a fixn... connections seem to be ok i think... i dont know about shorting issues though... havent checked
my 92 started doing the same thing a couple years ago. It started with one of them not opening once in a while- got progressively worse. It wasn't anything electrical in mine though, it was purely mechanical failure, when the bushings in the motors start to give out they seem to do whatever they want, sometimes they open, sometimes they don't. I got a rebuild kit from TDS (with the delrin bushings) and that took care of it, they are like new again. Hope this helps if you don't find anything wrong with the wiring this might be the next thing to try
I'm with Fyrchkn on this one. I'd check that relay on the firewall. I had a similar issue a while back, one wouldn't go up all the time, maybe it would go up after I went over a bump. I opened up that relay and sure enough, one of the wires inside the main relay itself was burned off...so I soldered back together and its been working great for the past 2 years...
