Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

its because he is chlidish, he thinks with a childs mind, plane and simple, the repar was childish because the part he was missing could have been picked up at any parts store for less than the cost of the zip tie, or even at the junk yard, something that small they would just let you have for free, and further more i do not belive his car is a 1LE because to switch to normal font brakes in the fron he would need to change the whole spindle, and for the rea he would need new brackets, to tell the truth i think this wis a car that was converted to rear discs with the wrong prop valve, also, the 1LE should NOT have had cruise control. he thinks it's funny that he screwed up an otherwise good looking car because it was probably bought for him, if he had paid the money for this car himself, i gurantee you there would not have been a zip tie on the throttle.

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

I have read through all these posts....

Sorry to hear about the wreck, glad to hear no one was hurt!
Regardless of the rarity, cars can be replaced and repaired - people can't!
You missed 2 other vehicles with people in them, if you had to choose between the three,
then the telephone pole was, unfortunately, the best choice of the three.

It is your ride, if you want to fix it - then fix it!
I have had cars with salvaged titles win trophies at shows!
Their value is what it is to you.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN EMERGENCY BRAKE!!
It is a parking brake, used for parking!

If someone was to change out the 1LE brakes the spindles and rear caliper mouting brackets would have to be changed.
It still would have the baffled fuel tank, higher ratio steering box, and different sway bars and springs (I could be wrong).
Does the RPO sticker share the same VIN as your car?
Putting the 1LE brakes back would be a plus, but $$ is a factor on most things as always.

I am more amazed at some of the self rightousness of some.
I am sure he knows that he could have been prevented this.
He probably doesn't need others harping this at him, to make him feel worse.
How many of you have driven a car that you knew something was needing repair, but the car ran fine without it?
Or tried to fix it temporarily with some special engineering until you got the correct parts?

I can not remember when I used the parking brake last on my TA.
I could not tell you if it still is working or not!
I have gone weeks without even seeing the passenger side of my car.
(I really should check that next time.)

I hope you fix your ride up! 1LE or not.
Please, just have it put on a frame machine to have it checked.
You can't always see that damage by eyesight.
I would hate to see you put time and money into it,
just to find that not everything is bolting up just right.
If this is not your only car, it would be a good time to get all those other things fixed while it is being repaired from the accident.
You could have it all fixed by the upcoming spring?

I hope this is not your only car, that would suck worse.

P.S. was all my spelling and puncuation correct, just in case I am being graded.
(Did I forget anyone?)

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

we're not grading people, i was answering a question asked, he DOES seem to find this as a laughing matter, god know MY spelling and keyboard grammar sucks, so does most others. my point was this I'm a mechanic, i dont southside fix cars, i do it right the first time. the point its respect your vehicle because when you make a dangerous repair on a vehicle, your vehicle becomes dangerous to others. it becomes a loaded gun. WHAT IF god forbid, there was a mother and her children walking there? and he took them out because of his $0.15 ghetto repair? the point is don't be a reckless fool with your car, or next time it WILL kill someone. he got lucky this time, anyone who does something as foolish as this then laughs it off needs a punch in the teeth. we're not harping, its just disgusting to see that kind of reckless abandon that makes our road that much more unsafe.

I was wondering when someone was going to say that... Mine has been disconnected for awhile because I have yet to install a bracket for it.

your right, when i wrecked my ranger, the adjuster didnt even look at it completely and said it was totaled. and that makes me so mad to, because the truck was completel fixable, but i guess its cheaper for them to say "hah now were gonna jack up your rates" but then again my company charges me $25 more a month than my friends 98 Mustang GT.... sorry going off on a rant. But at i hit a Fire Hydrant in the same way you did and the body shop fixed my baby right up, was a pretty penny but looks brand new. im sorry tho that this happenend shes fixable but if you dont want to fix it use the check to put down on a new SS Camaro

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

Sorry to hear about the car man!

INS companies just care what it looks like on paper also a good INS co would let you choose to fix it or have the option to total it. Its your car, they cant just take it and say tough. They can decline insurance on it but cant legally take it. My bro racked up his jeep and my parents ins co was excellent about it, they gave him so many options... he should have totaled the pos because they were going to give him 3500 more than what he paid for it. but my brother is the biggest idiot ever and he let a body shop fix his front axel and its more of a pos than ever. lol

either way your car, you decide. a dd car is one thing but a project car is another... once its gone so is all the blood sweat and tears.

good luck !
