Door weather guard/splash screen??

OK, 5 years ago when I took the car apart, I remember tearing apart the doors and ripping out this clear(ish) plastic sheet that covered the inside of the door and went right inbetween the door and the interior door panel. I am assuming it was to help protect the cardboard interior door panel...

Now that everything is going back together, I have no idea where to get this plastic sheet. I guess I could always make something, but would like to see if the original part can be gotten still.

Does anyone know if the plastic is still obtainable and/or what it is called so I can look for it?

Any help is appreciated.

If worse came to worse, it will be getting some thick plastic from Lowes and cutting to fit. I would think any glue would work, right?

Thanks.

I know what your talking about, they're moisture barriers. I don't have a source for them right now. You could probably use the plastic from Home Depot.

Re: Door weather guard/splash screen??

I have used heavy guage plastic like you are talking about, works great and no one is going to see it unless you drive around without your inner door panels : ) You can use waterproof duct tape to attach it, I have done this on two different cars, works just fine. I understand that the original sheeting was attached with "dum-dum" a non-hardening sealant made by 3m and Norton that is sold in strips in 100 foot packs - this is the stuff used to seal around holes in the firewall etc.
