Follow the Tech Article on thirdgen.org or the instructions for the 101170 nylon guides which can be downloaded from the lower left side of my web site under "documentation". These instructions will tell you how to disassemble your 86-87 pull-down or 88-91 pull-down unit. Once you've pulled the gear nut out of the clear plastic motor housing you'll need to turn the gear nut in a couple of turns. Then re-assemble the lift rod plate to the housing and reattach the reversing switch with the phillips-head screw. If you can't figure it you can make arrangements to send it to me and I'll diagnose and repair it.
