thinking about shaving door handles

well i saw a post on here about an article for shaving door handles. so what does everyone think? any suggestions?

my brother and i should be able to fit everything in the door and my uncle should be able to help me patch over the door handles.

Here is the site i found with the article

and Here is the kit im thinking about going with. my brother is also thinking about doing this with his 1st gen RX-7

should i use door thrusters or door propers?

also are there any other kits out there that are good for about 160?

Re: thinking about shaving door handles

I like flush door handles, better than shaved.

If you ever wanna go drag racing, they won't allow a shaved handle car go down the track.

Here is my old 92 RS, with 88+ C/K truck handles (or S10/S15 handles, which are the same design, but slightly smaller).....

Or 97 Bonneville handles (not sure what year range is the same for these & these simply haven't been painted blue yet, in the pic).......

Re: thinking about shaving door handles

I seriously considered shaving my handles too. But due to the fact that I want to run my car at the track once it's all put back together I went a different route. I shaved the lock cylinder since I have keyless entry and installed 4th gen handles. It's a much cleaner look.

I was going to go with the flush mount handles like Stephen suggested but I couldn't decide which ones that I wanted to use.

If you race at all I wouldn't do it for the simple fact that if you happened to flip over and catch on fire it's one less way to get the door open to pull you free.

Just something to think about.I love shaved handles too.

Re: thinking about shaving door handles

The 4th gen handles don't have the indention in the middle of them. They're smooth all the way across and a direct bolt on.

Re: thinking about shaving door handles

I had shaved handles on my s10 years ago.I learned the hard way what happens when your battery is dead i had to pop out the back window to get in it.If your gonna do it leave a way in like a hidden cable to release the door in case your remote or car battery dies.
