Basically, the tittle says it. Do i need to get new, lower tension, hood struts for my 89 Iroc if i get a new fiberglass hood? I heard that the fiberglass could crack/become weak when its pulled down to close it because of its low weight compared to the steel hood. Is this an actual problem?
Thanks

I have a fiberglass hood from the junkyard that was damaged by not switching the struts. Some people find or trade others with worn out/weaker ones as a cheap alternative to buying new.
if yours are good i have a set of worn but not bad ones if your willing to trade? they just wont hold my steel hood up well i think they would be fine with fiberglass
Wow, thanks for all the quick replies... I love this place haha. And i might take you up on that polaris. Just let me get back to you in the morning. Thanks again everyone.
Edit:
Oh yeah, my struts are in good condition btw
I bought a set of the 82-83 hood shocks from a local GM dealer for like $100.00.....they are the best....and a great investment..
