Hey guys, well after tooling around with my 91 trans am, I found out that there unfortunately is some rot on the driver's side fender hidden underneath the ground effect. I haven't checked the passenger side yet but I'm assuming its the same story. So I was thinking rather than doing a patchy bondo job (forget me welding), I'd just replace the fenders. I really like this fender off of an '85 trans am since it has that little "gill" behind the wheel. I understand that I might need to drill holes into the fender to mount the ground effect but is there any other work that's involved or should it be a direct bolt-on? And what years total did they make that fender with the "gill"? All I'm aware of is '85.
So I was thinking this:
On this:
What do you guys think?
Oh and random question: are thirdgen camaro fenders the same?
Fenders had the 'vents' from 82-90 trans ams, non gta's and all firebird fenders should be interchangable (direct bolt on) aside from the gfx work which you already know about.

oh... no sorry the gfx arent. The 91-92 ones line up right at the ridge on the fender, and you have to drill holes, and fill the old ones. Heres a pic of my old car, you can see where the stock holes are compared to where my gfx sit.

Thanks for the compliment btw!
Oh gotcha, eh that's not bad at all. Some bondo will easily fill those holes. Looks sharp. So that one is a different car? Looks the same as your gray one apart from the paint and rims.
EDIT: Oh oops I didn't notice the t-tops on the red car. So what happened to it?

thats exactly what I did. Put some putty over it, and sanded it smooth.
The red car was rotting apart underneath, so I bought the hardtop car (which is also kinda red) for 125$ that everything was trashed on except the body. So I just swapped all my parts onto it and sent the t-top body to the crusher. And I do mean ALL the parts haha.

That sucks, I hate watching these cars get wasted because of rust. I'd rather see em die with dignity in a fiery crash right after whooping a rice burner's ***!
