Cut out the moon roof, get some cheap sheet metal curved to the correct angle, trim it, and weld away.

I posted a thread looking for a T-top car converted to a hardtop, that's a tad bit more work, but what you're looking to do is simple and straight forward.

I saw the Craigslist ad, and I'd really suggest keeping the Camaro, you'll regret getting rid of it.

Make a template from cardboard, place the cardboard on top of the car over the opening, get in the car with a sharpie and trace the circle.

Then transfer the cut circle onto sheet metal and make a plug for the opening, and weld it into place.

I've seen this done on muscle cars that shouldn't of have sunroofs.

It would be a hard project for sure to weld everything up without warping the metal but it definitely can be done.

If you can or know someone who can weld a patch then you should use the roof metal from a donor third gen. They have subtle curves that would need to be fixed (with bondo) if you used a flat piece.
