Re: pulling ground FX....anyone done it recently?

Lets see here. It's actuallly a real pain to take them off. ON the front of each side gfx were the Z28 badge should be there was two screws on each side. on the back of each gfx there is a stud coming off the gfx that has on of those little nuts on it. But the only way to acess it is to take the interior panel out that is right behind the door. behind that there is an acess hole with a peice of rubber over it (idk why). in there you'll find the that nut. Also i don't know if you saw them but there are more screws underneath on the side gfx, like under the rocker panel. If you want me to i can see if i can post pics of were this stuff is over the weekend.

Re: pulling ground FX....anyone done it recently?

thanks guys, i appreciate the help! IrocZ28man, i would love it if you could post some pics of where some of these fasteners can be found. so far, i am starting with pulling the side FX. i did pull all of the screws under the car by rocker panel area, and the screws that are in the door jam area, but the front and rear of the FX seems to be still held on by more hardware. i guess i have to pull the door panel to get to the rest of the fasteners on the smaller strip piece.......

if anyone has some pics or more hints on pulling the ground FX, i would appreciate your input also! thanks, rick

Re: pulling ground FX....anyone done it recently?

in the first thumb nail. the red arrow is pointing to the interior panel that you will need to remove to get to the hole picture in thumbnail 2( outside view). thumbnail3 is what the acess hole looks like from the inside after you remove the interior panel. once you get to that acess hole then you can remove the nut from the stud on the gfx and the back should be loose. I'll post the pics for how to remove the front sometime tonite. i Hope these help

The screws that hold the front of the gfx are found underneath the z28 emblem on the Gfx. it should pop off if you use a screw driver to carefully pry it off. under that there are two screw pointed out by the red arrows in thumbnail. And as far as i can remember that is all that hold the front on.
