Hey guys, the previous owner of my 91 T/A said that the word PONTIAC was written in orange in between the taillights but it faded off over the years.I could've sworn that I've seen pictures of that somewhere too. If you look closely (in person that is), you can see PONTIAC engraved in black right underneath the trunk lock, where apparently it's supposed to be written in red/orange. Here's a pic of my car...
If that's supposed be as said above... where can I get the decals?
My 91' WS6/Formula has Pontiac in orange writing as well as the Pontiac Bird above the word PONTIAC <<>> Where to find decal can't help so much.... Try your luck getting a replacement panel at a "Bone Yard". Good luck!
OK that's an example of it. Looks pretty good, I like it. Yeah I guess I'll have to search around. I haven't see very many Trans Ams with that lettering still there. Personally, I think it would be awesome if those letters were clear and had a bulb behind em to act as a third brake light or something. Or maybe reflectors? Hmmm.... project ideas?!
Thanks for the tips guys!
Yep. $300 & up the the regular price for a set of good 91-92 2 piece lights.
I don't really understand it though. Yes, they were only made for 2 years so "rare", in terms of...Not many made.
But honestly? I like the 87-90 GTA lights better. No amber on them. Convert the amber to red & *I* think they'd look nice too.
Yep, personally I prefer amber turn signals on most cars but that's just me.
I gotta find me a 91-92 parts car with these lights... hopefully being sold by someone who doesn't know what they're worth.
The lettering on my Trans Am has nearly entirely faded off as well. In fact you can't see PON and barely see TIAC. I'm going to need the decals as well someday far in the future when I can afford to get the car painted.

my apolgees! I thought my 91 formula would have been the same. I was wrong in regards to the above pic. posted.... Mine is a decal as stated in previous post (Pontiac & the bird). Is that a light alluminatting the word PONTIAC? you should be able to take that back cover off and illuminate the background with new color? Im may be wrong but sure doesn't look like a decal.... Is it a decal????? Any how, good luck!

It's supposed to be a decal. I know, in that picture it kinda looks like a light because of the florescent orange. However I don't think turning that into an actual light would be a bad idea... pretty neat if you ask me. Feel free to use my idea on your projects.
