Tried a search with not much luck.... Wodering if any on here have gone for the wide body rear look on a 3rd gen... I'm trying to stay within the parameters of a stock tub, but considering widening the rear a tad on my '82 to accomodate some bigger meats....
Any input, good or bad, is appreciated.

Thanks for the link to Neil's car, it does look great!!!!
And it 100% custom & ALL STEEL.. In other words, it wasn't cheap/inexpensive, nor easily done by just ANY shop. It takes real skill to pull off what Vintage Rest did on Neil's car.
You can get the fiberglass panels, from ASCD/Stinger..... ASCD Wide Body
Neil's car is the nicest Camaro I've ever seen. There's definitely a lot of time, effort, skill, and money in that vehicle and the results are amazing.
Obvious that Neil didn't cut any corners or get in a hurry on the build.... Still thinking on the wide body idea, definitely have to do it in steel... 'glass and steel just suffer from compatiblity issues after a few heat-cool cycles....

Probably something in the 10.5" to 12" for a street tire, 10 or 10.5 for a slick... With a bit of trimming I can get 9.5"-10" in the wheel well as it is now....

I like the ones on the back of this car, i like the way they flow onto the doors.

Custom Camaro. Handmade body. Widened over a foot, lengthened 11.5", modified Corvette ZR-1 rear, Ferrari Hatch with custom spoiler molded. Over $50,000 invested in car. Full custom body- NEEDS TO BE FINISHED with fiberglass. Built by John Silva, the original builder of the Mako Shark Corvette and designer of the Dodge Viper. This car will be worth a ton when done. Roll cage, 10 disc CD changer, custom painted dash, extra seats, engraved windows. Tons of extras- hoods, hatches, shocks, etc. Built 305 cu.in. Holley 4bbl, TH350 tranny with shift kit, 10 bolt posi with 2:73 gears. Spins second gear with 12" wide tires. Now it has 14.5" wide Mickey Thompson "I-pattern" tires in rear, 12" wide in the front on Cragar "Street Star" wheels. So many modifications and add-ons to list. Must sell. Need storage. Make offer or interesting trades?? Street rod?? Runs and drives. Own a one-of-a-kind mean looking car. No other like it. E-mail Scott
all that work with a lame hood and a carbed 305...
Because it was a prototype/show car that had no need for any performance. No need for 1000hp, for something that drives no further than from one work building to another, or on & off a trailer.
I'd take it off his hands if there was an easy way to get it on a trailer and back to ohio. I wouldn't trust my normal shippers to get it on a trailer and i know i would never get it on my trailer. I'd take off the pointy stuff and put a stockish front bumper on it.

It may be just me, but I absolutely love how this camaro looks.
personally, i would go for a rear widebody kit, but i think the front should stay stock
im not a fan of how the front fenders meet up with the doors in this kit

Almost a certainty, that the front and/or rear bumpers would hafta come off, to get the car n a ramped trailer. Unless you had LOOOOONG ramps, to make the angle real shallow.
Yup, me too.... I do like the looks of the rear fenders...they would look better if the car were lowered a bit! Think I'd get a nose bleed sitting that high in the air!!!!!
That's nasty. I think a barf bag should be standard equipment for that.
I was looking at my car from a couple different rear angles the other day. I was tempted to bust out the grinder & cut off wheels and start pulling the quarters out in a kinda "Neil-ish" fashion. & kind of making them go more straight down instead of curving in so much. The problem then would be trying to make the '91 GFX work & blend right and then getting a loan to buy tires to fill them.
