On my camaro door there is no trim that runs across the center of the door. The trim peice that gets painted. However i am buying some dif doors tomorrow that do have the trim. My ? is. What is under the trim peice? Is there holes in the door or is it held on by double sided tape?
Depends on the year of the door. the early years had tape, the later years had push in clips. I think the years 85 to 87 had tape, the years 88 to 92 had clips. Dont qoute me I maybe wrong lol. Most likely wrong lol.

My 82, 83, and the 88 I took the doors off of had tape. Never seen any held on with studs/clips.

There were some '85 Camaros that had multi-piece moldings that were riveted to the door (and fender & qtr). Seem to be pretty rare though, so it's unlikely it will be that style.
