Bumper and gfx comparison for camaros (w/pic)

There has been some questions on here lately about what bumpers will fit your car (including myself). I have a copy of the Camaro catalog from Classic Industries. I scanned a page showing the bumpers and gfx you can order for a thirdgen. They are slit into three categories; 82-84, 85-90, and 91-92.

Looking closely at the photo you can see that rear bumper is different for each category. I believe any rear bumper will bolt up to a thirdgen, just won't look historically accurate.

The front nose for 85-90 and 91-92 look the same. 82-84 front nose looks like it has some slightly different mounting brackets around headlights and grille area. Any year front nose should bolt up to a thirdgen.

Remaining gfx pieces look slightly different for each category but they should bolt up to any thirdgen. New holes may have to be drilled into gfx if swapping from different category.

Let me know if I missed anything.

The '82-'84 nose will not accept a later GFX, and vice versa.

Also, '85-'90 front GFX mount to the fender with three studs. The '91-'92 front GFX uses two wide tabs that go through slots in the fender, plus a clip on each end.

Headlight mounting panels are all the same.

But is there a way i can bolt an 85-90 front bumper on my 84 and use the 85-90 GFX? I want to go with the RS look.

Sure but you need to drill alot of holes. Maybe get the measurements off of the doner car.

Lots of holes in the doors and rear quarters as well as some weird ones under the fenders dog legs.

Yes, the bumper is a direct replacement. For the rest of the GFX, most of the holes may be in the same location.

Just remembered, you would also need to change your front re-bar (crash bar) and absorber to use the newer front cover. Well, they are different, so I'm assuming you would need to change them.
