| Re: Buying replacement exterior mirrors I actually hooked them up. The hardest part was finding a electric mirror controller with the yellow lettering to match the 91/92 scheme. I finally found one, but the wires were cut so short it was useless! But I found another. I got the wiring harness with my mirrors, which were from a 'Bird not Camaro - so the controller on the harness wasn't correct, and wouldn't fit in the door panel ('Bird controllers are in the center console).
If you have power windows or door locks (which I did), there will be a chuck of flexible tube that runs from the door to the body with the harnesses inside. I just fished the mirror harness through there with a piece of coat hanger. On the harness there is a ground that connects on the door, so all you have to do is connect into a power wire under the dash.
ONE WARNING ON ANY MIRROR - they are plastic, NOT glass! I found out the hard way - my passenger side was dirty - real dirty - and so I thought I'd use really fine steel wool with glass cleaner - but it scratched!
