How do i lower the lip of the hood more? I could press on the front and it could lower about 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch but when i move my hand back up and makes that tap noise... i dont know what to do.

I have a similar Problem with mine. It has a factory fiberglass hood on an 86 iroc-z. It has a huge gap across the front. can seem to get the adjustment right. I was gonna try to move the nose around see if that helps.

Mine is a harwood 4" steel cowl... I really hope someone knows, because it takes air from the front so much that it shakes the hood a bit on highway driving.. lol
i'm going to ask the obvious question, did you adjust you rubber hood grommets? thats the ones for adjusting your height of your hood, from the pics you have it looks like your hood is fitting good with the fenders? so you might have more issues, can you get more close up pics.good luck

the 2 gromets under the front part of the hood are already down as much as possible. where would you like the picture?
it is kind of hard to tell.. but it almost looks like the hood is back too far. if you look straight down at the front corners of the hood, do they match up with the top corners of the bumper cover?? if the hood is back too far it can make the gap look bigger (i'm pretty sure).
its honestly as far up as possible... so i really don't know what to do. everyone else seems to have a nice tight seal with their hoods and front bumper...
can you loosen up the hood striker assy and move it down? i dont think its the rubber stoppers because you said that you can hold it down but it wont stay there. im sure there is a certain amount of play in the assy when it is loose. also the hood looks like its a tad too far back.but there should be room for adjustment on the hinges for that. either on the hood side or on the car side
I have the same problem with my 4in cowl fiberglass hood but when i was installing it on my car i made it fit to the nose as best as i could by sanding down the fiberglass but it still has about a 3/4 gap. And i tried adjusting it every way possible.
Has your car ever been hit in the front (even slightly)? The noses on our cars is plastic and you would be suprised at how much they can move if hit. If youve tried all possible hood adjustments and you still have a gap I would suggest you loosen the nose and move it--then tighten everything back down while a friend holds it in place.

ive read all your comments and ive moved it forward and its much better, tighten all the bolts, but has now a very slight gap, but ill try to retighten the nose too, i noticed some lose spots oddly...
You can see right here that the front of the hood is too high. Look where the leading edge of the hood meets the outside corner of the bumper cover above the headlights.
Adjust the bump stop things that the hood rests on. Im not sure if that will fix it, but it might. The latch may hold it higher, not sure.
