1983 Trans Am Cowl Opening

I have a 1983 trans am. The car has the off set cowl on it. I have taken the motor off and tested it and it works. But for some reason the previousowner had shut it. How can I check to see if this opening is actually opening when I high rpm. I am not sure if it is getting the right trigger. If i am right that switch to turn it on is vacuumed. Any help would be nice.

Re: 1983 Trans Am Cowl Opening

is the car crossfire injection or carbed? If it's CFI then the hood flap is opened and controlled by the ECM from the TPS sensor.

The car is Cross Fire. How can I locate this sensor and find out if it is working and if it is sending a signal to the cowl?
