New tail lights. Help?

Hey guys so i got an 83 firebird and I went out the other day an got the taillights off a 85 gta. Ok so 2 things I mounted them and there is like a half inch gape from the bottem of them and the top of the bumper do i need the newer bumper to fix that? The next is the lock its set way far in the hole in the center peace of the lights not flush with it do i need a newer one of them to?

#1....87 was the first year for a GTA. So either was a later year, not a GTA, or simply had GTA lights swapped on to a 85.

#2....The bumpers are the same. Is there no red reflective strip acroff the bottom, under the lenses? That is about the right height you seem to have for a gap.



#3....The hatch key latch is way recessed, so what you are seeing may be pefectly normal. See my pic above.

Yeah mine are the same as the one in your pic, sorry for the year thing new to the 3rd gen world. So both gaps are ok? When the birds got real rounded like the 92's? what about that rear bumper on them I don't see a gap on em.

82-92, the sizes are all the same. Just differences between the lower groubnd fx section, length front to rear, etc. Tops are all the same.

91-92 lights have different lenses (amber section) but they are the same size.
