Just bought a yellow 1985 Iroc for $500, its got a new 700R4 tranny, new radiator, all new tires. I just have to put the TPI stuff back on it to get the car running. The lady i got it from just wanted to free up her garage, her loss is my gain haha. I'll get some pics up tomorrow

Don't believe the post counter, usually means they love to run there mouth more than their motor.
Cheers!
you got ripped off just kidding that is an awesome buy (I'm assuming you got a title too) from the pictures the body looks really good how are the floors. If the body is good you're definitely miles ahead of the game, you could probably just put the TPI back together and make some decent money on it but I hope you keep it
That's a great looking car KickinIroc. Love the color. You scored big time!!!
I just got this one for $600 off Craig's list. 89, 350/TPI/auto. Bad fuel pump. $60 and 5 hours later a buddy and I had it running. Hatch pull down needed to be repaired, and both window motors, but pretty danged happy about it. Took me about 5 weeks of looking 3-4 times per day on CL, and I got lucky and I was the first one there with the cash.
Persistence pays off believe me. And having greenbacks in hand sure helps seal the deal. (Hundred dollars bills work best)

Wow with t-tops too! Did the PO know about the bad fuel pump?

He thought that was it, but was quoted big $$$ by the dealer to fix it. He wasn't very mechanically inclined. He used a claw hammer on the belt tensioner and broke out the square. It's still usable...............but geez, own a car like this and not even have a 1/2" ratchet?
Most people love the cars but when they break they have no ability to repair them, and you can get lucky if you are at the right place and right time. I figured if I had to part it I'd at least break even, but looking at the car, how clean the engine was, service records, the original paperwork from when the car was sold............I figured the engine/trans was ok. Yes I got lucky, but I took a calculated risk and this time I won. Did I mention it has new tires, a 9 bolt, and rear disks
KickinIroc...........did they tell you why they pulled the TPI apart?
Hey nice steal! I recently picked up this 88 iroc z with a 305 tpi for a grand. The previous owner hadn't turned the key for a whole year! a YEAR. The throttle was sticking when I got it but i sprayed the throttle body with some gunk and lucas and its not a problem anymore. The electronics are coming back to life now and the power windows and windhsield wipers are good but the lights crapped out so I'm thinking im gonna have to find the fuse box on this thing. Engine runs really strong and the performance exhaust on it sounds badass
lol....nope it's a product of the 80's....they're cool.
haha.. I'm sure if i lived in the 80's it would have been love at first sight, I grew up in the mid 90's and early 2000's. Still they are awesome looking seats straight out of the 80's.
Dude I too just bought a 1990 camaro iroc 5.7, I been having prob putting the belt on cause of that piece broken off as well as yours. I just ordered a mini high powered torque starter due to the original stock one is a pain to put in especially dealing with restricted space, the previous owner said the car just sat for a year.
