Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

A while back i posted this same topic and i figured i would let you all know what happend. First the insurance did not total it. Second It was verified as a 1le. Third i stripped it and hauled it off to crusher. the reason i did the third reason was simply dur to the fact i had already started on another engine and wanted a stripped down camaro to put it in to redo it all before i had the chance to start on it i found a 90 rs shell ready to go with new paintjob and all only thing was it had front bumper scuffs from where they parked and bumped the concrete blocks that stop you. So i bought it and dropped my 383 into it and hauled the white one off no one wanted it so oh well guess there really is only 110 left lol ill get pics up and stuff when i can i got a video right here.

please comment on what you think

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

i really dont wunna deal with critics take your bs flag and shove it this car was a lot of hard work i dont need your the rear end was new i bought it off a friend im not sure why he bought it. I jacked it up spun the wheel once after marking the driveshaft and wheel with white marker and the drive shaft turns about 2.25 times so i figure 2.19 or 2.29 gears. first gear ends at 60 i can prove you that lol but im definitely not posting to bs anyone. rpm performance intake cam has a powerband of 2500 to 6500 edelbrock 600cfm carb so yeah no tpi lol.

You need to check those turns again. The only car that I know of with that high of a ratio was the early Caddys.

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

How does an engine shot prove it is a 383... Im not throwing up an BS flags... I think it is a nice car bro. Sounds mean. What is all done to the engine? And What 1/4 miles times are you expecting?

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

oh i didnt take the shot to prove its a 383 bro i was just gunna show it wasn't tpi lol my bad for the misconception im not really sure what he was flagging bs on but i don't really care either i dont have a build sheet or receipts like i shoulda kept lol

here are the links to other videos
engine shot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9g43mkgWaE
first gear 30 to 66 and then some which i shouldnt have done
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB735LdS-c4
First gear ending around 70
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYKfIIhlOJc

I know rapping it out like that is pretty stupid i was just trying to show first gear. motor and trans got about 700 miles on them. As for quarter mile times im not sure its doggy off the line my grand prix will pull on me till about 30 then camaro waves bye bye trying to estimate with a new 4.11 rear end im hoping for at least high 13's with this setup but i threw it together i wanted a vigilante stall but i didn't have money for it. being 17 has its disadvantages. by summer i should have enough for a carb and stall. i got a 700cfm carb off my dads 70 nova but i havent put it on since it is now my daily driver.

comp cams Thumper camshaft bored .30 over manley piston and manley head job the heads came off of a 350 not sure what they are but yeah.

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

Is it possible that you missed one of the turns on the count? If the driveshaft spun 3 1/4 turns, you would have a 3.23 rear instead of the 2.29. Just a thought, but there should be some numbers stamped into the shafts that could be decoded.

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

I'm thinking 2:73 on the gears. If you did count the driveshaft turns correctly then you might have a problem with the rear but I think you missed half a turn when counting.
Put a piece of tape on the Ujoint next time to be sure.

Also, move the camera around a little more next time you make a video.......J/K

Re: Yesterday i wrecked my camaro

see your leaning twards chevy gears lol im not sure if its a chevy rear end i know that sounds retarded but the guy told me he had it made for his 454 camaro for a super gas out of track season and he never put it in. But at 6500 rpms there is no way in hell it could be 2.73 cause i road in one and first gear at 5500 rpms ended at like 40 i just don't see that but the tape thing is a good idea but like i said i used a white marker to mark both spots there is no way i missed a turn cause my gf was turning the tire lol and i was underneath with the drive shaft about 2 inches away from smacking me in the face lol. Idk though i dont care really its gunna be changed out so no sweat off my back but i will after removing it find out what hears it is for sure lol
