Prepping for paint, What am I in for, expierianced help please....!

I have a 1986 Iroc Z28 that I put a new front clip on ( All new bumper cover, front ground effect and Z28 hood..) The new front body parts came in a flat black primer.

The rest of the car is shiny white with some imperfections. It had a small amount of surface rust on the drivers side that I was able to grind down to bare metal and I sprayed rustoleam rust preventative on. On the passengers side there were some rust spots on the fender lip that ate through, I need to put some sort of filler in them like "Tiger hair". They are about the size of a dime. 3 of them. There was also a little bit of surface rust under the lower door ground effects I was able to sand to bar metal cleanly. I will have to put about 1/16th of an inch of bondo on the surface rust.

The car was factory painted white with gold Iroc wheels and Gold pin striping trim above the gfx. Tha factory primer is on the back half of the car and its it a tan color.

I need to know what kind of primer and paint I should use to make the car look close to factory. I would like to do a filler primer, base coat and clear coat. I have a cheap 70$ harbor freight paint gun and a Craftsman 50 gallon regulated air compressor to spray with. Can anyone reccomend a complementary primer/paint/clearcoat setup for my plans? I am going to paint the car outside my garage with wet pavement. Is there a complete painting kit I can buy with all the hardners/activators and primer?

Thanks in advance!

I like Kirkers 2k primer sealer it is cheap and works good for block sanding.
You can get that and other stuff from smartshoppersinc.com.
It does shrink up more than PPG's k36 or k38 but is 1/4 the price. (at least for somebody not buying much paint)

I have liked PPG stuff but it can be expensive.(price some clears some time)

I just do some paint jobs for fun and with the 2k you can thin it and use it as a sealer or spray it out of the can for maximum build. Must be sanded (at 100% strength) and it will be rough. It is nice to have a gun with a large fluid tip for this primer.

This will help you get used to the process before the base coats!
