removing rear gfx and bumper on my 91 t/a
Hey guys, I have a 1991 trans am 'vert and I wanted to remove the rear bumper along with the ground effects that connect to it behind the rear wheels. The haynes manual is silent on this matter lol. Any tips/pointers? Thanks!

Only pointers I can offer are to get under you car & LOOK. Look in the rear of the wheel wells. Pull the interior panels back & look under those as well.
One good look & all the fasteners are very obvious. That is how I found everything on a 89 GTA. Never once did I even consider looking in a book to tell me.

But in all seriousness that's the same mentality I had when I was taking my front end apart. I ended up cracking one of those front gfx pieces (that are a PITA to get a replacement of) that attach to the fender in between the nose and front wheels. Turns out GM had the genius idea to glue that piece to the fender, despite me having removed ALL fasteners. I wanna avoid that this time, so that's why I'm asking.
EDIT: And the 91-92 ground effects are a bit different than the ones on your 89 GTA.

If there was adhesive/glue in there, I don't think GM put it there. Never seen adhesive/glue in any of mine before.
If your front fx pieces between the wheel well & nose are both in good shape, treat them like gold. You DO NOT want to have to go looking for those 91-91 'bird fx pieces.....They'll be busted for years, before you find any!

Camaro fx are WAY different. My GTA is my first Firebird. 84, 86, 90, & 92 Camaros before the GTA.

Does anybody here know how to remove the rear bumper/gfx pieces off of a 91-92 firebird? Anybody?

Re: removing rear gfx and bumper on my 91 t/a
yeah, the 91-92 bird gfx have an adhesive strip on teh top holding them to the fender, no screws there like the earlier 82-90 one do.
the rear parts are all bolt on, a couple screws under the car, i believe 3 inside the car, maybe one in teh wheel well and thats it. Just dont force it. If it seems stuck somewhere, there is probably another screw.
