I must be old now because I never heard the term "mudered out" and it makes me wanna someone for even coming up with it. What was wrong with "blacked out", not negative enough?

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
if done right (which i have seen numerous times), it looks good and doesn't sound stupid when you say it. i've seen mostly murdered out mustangs and camaros and they're sick, my friend has a charger and he's going to be doing the same.
they dont always have to be flat or satin black although that may be the definition. i've seen plenty gloss.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
I saw a mid 90s vette at a show once and the best way to describe it would be "all light consuming black hole" EVERYTHING on this car was black, the engine bay, the interior, the lights etc. It wasn't flat black though it was a gloss black I wasnt real crazy about it but the thing that made it work was they had a blood red spider painted on the hood. I think they called it the black widow grand sport

Murdered Out.
Flat/Satin Black Paint
Black rims (no polished lip)
All exterior lights blacked out (a lot of people don't do headlight covers)
All emblems removed
Very dark tint.
Blacked Out.
Gloss black paint
Black rims (can have polished lips)
Parking lights/turn signals blacked out (taillights optional)
Emblems don't matter
Tint (can be legal)
Don't think i missed anything, May have though. but that's what i define them as.
Everybody has different opinions.
I have a black/gold iroc and I've wanted to switch out the iroc decals for black ones, so they're hardly visible, and put some black rims on it. But i just cant bring myself to change from black and gold
(edit, found a Photoshop i did a while back when i was pondering my idea, its not exactly "murdered out" but close enough to get an idea, forgot who's car this is, i found the picture on here. hope he doesn't mind)

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
Well, it doesn't sound like something I'd do to my Camaro, BUT, back in my younger days we did things to our cars that were not popular with the older bunch. We jacked up the rearend, had decals on the back and side rear windows, had duel cherrybomb, or thrush hanging just behind the front seat. I still like loud. I only have a small flowmaster sticker in the bottom middle of my hatch of each Camaro. They both rumble nice, but I still could use a little more rumble. Still left over from the 60's and 70's.

Let's go back to calling it "blacked out". "murdered out" sounds so low class.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
..the flat black look makes me want to cough..paint job looks parched..and there arent many of the "all black" themes I like because most of them look like the person ran out of money..or they didnt make it look that way on purpose..but when it reverberates throughout the whole car and the parts are in good shape, thats the only way it'll look good.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
Im not really down with the murdered out look on the thirdgens.. It looks great on some cars and not on others. Heres a pics of a car that easily pulls off the murdered look. Vettes also do it really well.
Some of you guys must never get out lol "murdered out" has been out there so long its almost played out!

"Murdered Out" and "Storm Troopered" and concepts perfected by Rob Dydek as stated earlier and as most think flat or satin colors are cheap and easy but to look like his far from so. My favorite is Geiger.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
For the Stormtrooper look you definitely need to ad some Satin black accent. That means Satin black paint or 3M black vinyl. Maybe some unusual stripes or even chevrons for a quasi military look .
I know someone who blacked out all the lower skirts on his white Camaro with some truckbed liner. Sounds bad but it had a quality I can't quite describe. Sorry no pics but that car is long gone anyway.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
My truck is close to being called "Murdered out". All I need is to paint the rims black, get rid of the billet chrome grill, and get smoked accents for the headlights and taillights.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
So, is the flat and satin fad over? Are we gonna see more shiny paint??? Hmmmm. Looks like one more fad to add to the last of fads I missed!!!! If everything old is new again, does that mean that lace paint and metalflakes will be back soon?

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
murdered out, you mean a car that's been butchered, has scissor doors, rice burner tail lights and a paint job that only appeals to the minority of people who claim to be car people. All the "murdered out" looks I have seen here in eastern WA is a bunch of kids who painted their cars with rattle cans in an afternoon, didn't wet sand to even it out, and just called it good, so yeah i can say its been really "murdered" for a car.

Re: pics of murdered out third gens
where as the glossy, candy paint and body kit wrapped around 160 hp thing seems slightly embarrassing
unlucky for me it seems to have become a trend with the sideways hat/t shirt past your knees crowd and called "murdered out"
im contrary to hipness and allergic to teenagers so now im gonna paint it bright neon yellow.. really
