I flat am losin it
89,700r4,changed from tbi to carb.Starts, runs like a dream until you floor it.Then it spits ,spats, sputters etc.I thought it might be the carb so I dissed the sec.No change on ft two barrels. It must be electrical.
I did everything yall told me but I can;t shake this one.Is their any correlation between the trans droping down a gear, and whats happening to my car?HELP

I would first test continuity on all plug wires to make sure there's no short - I've bought many new plug wires that are bad.
Next I'd make sure they are all attached to plugs and dist cap tight, making a slight click sound when correctly on.
Then I'd go to timing. Need to know what initial timing is and what total timing is and at what rpm. Mine is set at an initial of about 14* btdc, and I get a total of about 28 all in by 3000rpms. I really need a bit more total timing, but haven't tackled that yet.
How did you do fuel? What's fuel pressure at? What carb?

You really have lost it ... you posted a spit, spat, sputter question in the body board. If it had been a spit, spat, sputter, CRASH... question ...this would be the right place!
The good news is theres lots of help available here on TGO ... good luck with your problem.
