Self cutting nuts (speed nuts) part numbers, size
Does anyone know the size, part numbers, or a source, for the self cuting nuts used on the lower door molding? There are two styles used, a common and an acorn.
The service manual states if the nuts are not equiped with thread locking compound, then GM 1052279 or locktite 75, may be used.

I picked some up at the local NAPA here, don't remember the name or number. They should have a sample book with both styles in it.

I live in Kansas which is the only state I know of that does not have Napa. Auto zone only sells an assortment at $4 which contains only (1) in each assortment of the ones I need, and I need at least (8), so the assorment route is out. Auto zone as well as Ace have no parts books. I have not tried Oriellys as of yet. I have a "Winzer" parts book which shows only open acorn nuts and the factory is a closed acorn (black). The common nut in my parts book says it replaces GM 11501835, but is the same size specs James C quoted. Thank you James C for the info, it is easier to find what I am looking for when I know the sizes.

I used to live on First, just north of East High School. Graduated from WSU--long, long ago. There used to a a Camaro salvage yard there. Still around?

I will be on spring break next week and will look into this more. Thanks James for pointing out that I dont live in the only state without a Napa..... I live in the only city without one, lol. WSU just lost the b-ball game. Koons camaro and firebird salvage, small overall inventory, but great thirdgen inventory. I actually picked up my 4l60e, and ecu from there.
