All of my A/C vents inside my car are like loose.. like if you tilt it up it just falls down.. is there a way to fix this? ------------------ 89 RS 305 TBI Edelbrock 14x3 OE intake, Hypertech Chip, Street & Strip shift kit, flowmaster exhaust w/ high flow catco cat. How I fixed a couple of mine was to take out the vent and put a piece of double sided tape onto it and then put it back in The only draw back is that you can't adjust the vent up or down, although you can still adjust the "slats"

Get some gasket material and cut out a circle about the size of a dime. Then punch a small hole in the center for the stud on the vent to go through. put the material on the stud and snap the vent back into place. Works like a champ!

I used a small strip of adhesive foam rubber, but left the paper backing on the other side. The pressure is enough to hold it in place, but the paper backing lets it slip enough that you can still adjust it.

Also, is there an easy way to take em out.. Ive never tried so this may be a stupid post... but when I do I dont want to break em

How about some felt? I think that's what they originally had in it. I took mine out by sticking a very thin flat screw driver in there and pushing it to the side--should pop right out. Be careful tho you don't want to break it.

Here's a less risky way to take them out:

Push on the outside frame of the vent piece (push on the louvers and you'll break those out) near the center post until it goes into the vent. Then pull the opposite side out and slide the whole thing out at an angle.

This is because the pegs are sort of "spring-loaded" and rounded. Pushing them in recesses the peg enough to pull the vent out.

Getting them back in is a little bit trickier, but by then you'll see what I mean and can figure it out.

and once you get them out, i like the gasket material or rubber washer idea. i just put a metal washer on one of the pegs on mine and it works fine. would have gone with something smaller, softer, and blacker if i had it around at the time though.

I just did the ones on my pick up.

I used small O-rings on each end.
