THis is a very tricky thing to do well if you have no experience. Working as a detailer for 2 years I saw many people ruin cars paint jobs by buffing. Make sure to not buff in one spot for too long or you WILL burn a hole in the paint. Also use a wool pad for removal of imperfections then a foam pad for the final buff. I've never used a drill to buff before, if you can get a high speed buffer. you can use water or body polish to keep the heat of the paint down. Remember to go slow at first until you get better. As far as compound, it depends on what you want to do. THere are strong clearcoat removers and there are weak ones as far as the final layer goes just use a good mustard type consistancy wax (carnuba, paint sealant is great)
