neon gauge light

i was thinking about trying to put a 12" or 18" neon light underneath the dash right above the guages. i would like to rewire it so the neon lights up when the headlights are on, instead of those dull lights in the guage cluster. has anyone done this already, and if so, how hard was it to do?

I was thinking that too but instead of over the gauges i was gonna stretch it under the passerside too the side of the gauges. Kind of like the lights under and dash and hook them up to the headlights but also have a switch to shut them off when I don't want them on. 3rd gen interiors or dark at night. And for the gauges, try Xeoen light bulbs, they really light up the gauges.

yea do as camaro said for the gauges, you want to avoid hacking up, as much as possible. go for the macewan bulbs, and if you want neons, put them in a good spot so theyre not visible during day,
DO NOT WIRE THEM TO YOUR HEADLIGHTS.
wire them to another switch located in a nifty but accesible spot, id just like to letcha know that tha po-po (police) dont like neons as much as us.
go streetglow, streetglow is rated the best, and their small neons can go down to three inches.
im gonna be ordering some soon, but opereation sexe-body is under way.
