Cowl scoop, on fiberglass hood.

I recently got my hands on an 82ish fiberglass hood and I would like to bolt on a cowl scoop just would like to know if this would fit. Im trying to make it functional by cutting the hood.
Im just concerned of the length, it is 56in long and i measured the hood and it measures about the same, but since the hood curves down i may have trouble.
Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

Cutting the hood and grafting the cowl on isn't actually that hard, me and Camrs89 (at least i think thats his screenname for the board) did this for his car and it turned out great. I'll see if i can get ahold of him and have him post some more details and maybe some pictures. It looks just like a one piece hood now that its primered!

alright, it was alot of work, kinda fun but i like this sort of stuff.

step 1
Buy Hardwood 2 inch cowl

step 2
cut hole where you want the hole. (I cut the whole area out)

Step 3
buy rivit gun and rivits. Make sure hood is aligned and drill holes into the hood where the rivits are going to be. I did one every 1/2 inch.

Step 4
put a THIN fiberglass filler
layer over the rivits. just enough to cover them. Then build up the edge around where the two hoods meet.

Step 5
SAND SAND SAND more filler SAND SAND SAND...

Step 6
glazing putty (fills pinholes)

Step 7
Primer and enjoy

hope this helps.
