Step 1: make sure the vin on the sticker matches your car (lids and consoles can be swapped if damaged).
Step 2: if you have the correct sticker, one code should be B4Z, which designates Iroc.
Other items separate the Irocs from regular z28s. The search feature will help with that.

Re: how do i know if my camaro is a true iroc?
Thank you so much...parts id card in the console has the "b4z" and "z28" and the vin matches the vin on the title...so it is a iroc z28the badge inside just says "camaro"not "z28 iroc"...so that's why I was confused.
It does have the tbi 305 and t-tops with rear drum brakes which I believe were optional in 86 correct?
Thanks again buddy.

Take a clear photo of your RPO code sticker and download it to your computer. This will act as a reference point while you search between this site and google looking up 'RPO decoder'. You should be able to learn what 90% of those codes are. Keep in mind that 27 years and multiple owners later, things may have been changed on your car; drums to discs as an example. Good luck!
