Ice Cream/Pop On Paint?

Some kids threw ice cream/pop onto my car. So I rinsed it off with a pressure washer within the hour (I doubt I did a good job though, I was pissed). 16 or so hours later I completely washed the car.

However, I have marks on the quarter panel. My dad says they are scuff marks from the container they threw at the car (Pop container from fast-food restaurant). But, I see these marks on my spoiler too, where ice cream/pop was also thrown (I only saw one container on the ground).

Would the ice cream/pop being on the car for 16 hours damage the paint? Or do I just need to get my car polished? I don't have clear coat or anything if that matters...

Thanks
Trevor

Probably didn't hurt the paint, try claybar or a mild compound.

Depends what kind of pop it was, Coke is highly acidic (put a penny in a cup and pour coke on it it will be gone within 24 hrs)
The damage may come off with the clay bar or polish, if it doesn't you might have to have a talk with the kids parents about repainting your car

Edmonton sucks!!!! LOL sorry had to!!!

I once had beer on my old car once for a couple of hours before i washed it off, but it didn't do anything to the paint!! So if u wax and clean it and the marks are still there then they most likly scuffed the paint!!

I guess now is as good of time as any to finally wax my car. I guess I just have to find someone to teach me the "art" of waxing now.

I was wondering what the heck "pop" was and then I finally figured it out. It shouldn't have hurt your car's paint, though. I once made the mistake of parking my Blazer next to a dorm at school. The next morning, the thing was covered in coke, beer, popcorn, and chocolate(I guess it was my NC State stickers on UNC's campus that did it). It was in the summer time and baked on it too. I washed it off and never had any problems with it.
